Day 109
so i got back the first samples of the big project that took up all my time and generated lots of really cool work.
i've thus far tried to only post images from it that i know weren't going to run, but now that i have it in hand i feel a bit more open to the idea.
the project was this year's social responsibility report for regions bank for which bryan, jason, mark, michael, caleb (among others), and i worked on last year. last year it was a crazy time and there were Tons of shots so Slaughter Group (responsible for the design, execution, etc) hired a million people and sent us all over the u.s. over a very shot amount of time and really did an amazing job keeping everyone in line. slaughter really are solid. i worked with mandy and marion and thoroughly enjoyed myself...now to try to find something awesome enough to give them as a thank you, right?
anyway..so this year they had a lot less shots to take and i was privileged enough to be the guy they hired to take them.
if you happen to be in a regions branch in the next little while, look for a small book with this on the cover.
once i get spreads or take photos of it, ill post them somewhere and link to it. i was pretty happy with how it all came out but i am slightly more excited if they are able to get their printer to do a short digital run of "our" book, which is to say a copy of the book with our preferred photographs. as usual the client wanted changes here and there. to be expected.

Day 105
another great photographer here in town that i have had the good fortune to work with for the last three years is a man called Jason Wallis. you may recognize his (award winning) work a) if you live in the area, or b) if you saw the national campaign for mail fraud for the postal service that ran last year.
Day 100
So today is day 100 of electric lion. Day 122 is one third of the way through the project but day 100 seems significant enough to mention. It is nice to be at three digits!
im heading out to town for a few days (well, in and out of town til sunday night) so the posts may be brief, but expect images all the same.
today i head back to monroe, louisiana for the first time in two years and the second time ever in life (other than incidentally driving through it en route to other places) to return stephanie to her family.
speaking of..
Day 094
its getting hot again and, whereas that is great in a lot of ways, i already miss the cold. i pretty much love the cold and i dont look forward to having to use the AC or sweat a million or....dress up in nice clothes to photograph a wedding for the whole bloody day.
so here is a throwback to when we had some snow a while back. the presumably homeless woman who made it told me, half-jokingly, that i had to pay her a dollar to shoot it. i dont carry cash. soon thereafter she apparently reclaimed the coins and destroyed the mini-man. for once, i dont blame myself. (man i love the sandlot)
