Day 127

el2_127

I was playing around a bit in the studio this afternoon goofing off with Kevin and Rob shooting with lights (!) which is so very rare. I recently added a DIY grid spot to my ghetto arsenal and managed to tag team it with my DIY beauty dish and came out with this shot of Rob.

I'd also like to mention that I launched a new section on my website thats all about the work I did in Uganda. I am still very thankful for the chance to go and more than that the ability to use my work to help people.

Please, CHECK IT OUT. Feel free to leave positive or negative feedback or questions here.

Uganda!

Hey everybody. Just an official blog post to mention I put up a new section to this website for the work I did in Uganda for DIG.

If you want, following along with the words in the intro and the IMAGE NOTES. The goal, of course, is to tell the story with the images themselves, but hopefully the words will give a bit more insight into DIG and the people you see in the photos.

Check it out!

Day 126

So a while back Bryan and I shot a story for Portico sort of on a whim and here is one of the shots I took I like.

This guy was a consultant on this building project, if I am not mistaken.

Day 122

el2_122

I'm tired and fighting off a bit of a cough.

Here is a trifecta of cute. Stephanie: cute. Sadie: cute. E.T.: creepy.

Shit..okay..this is two parts cute and one part fucked-up-weird-bodied-plastic-model-of-a-fictitious-alien.

Day 121

el2_121

Few things...

I was digging through my Africa film while working on edits for it. I found this one of photographer and documentary film maker Ansley West with whom I worked while in Uganda. She was not only shooting (still and motion), but also volunteering for DIG.

Also, it was the Bici Coop grand opening tonight. I shot the goings on of part of the night. Perhaps one or two of those will surface.

I feel like I had something else but, per usual, I forgot.

Day 120

el2_120

So, yes...this is Winslow...again. I have other stuff from Louisiana but none of it is up to par. I have tons of Slo and a couple more of Damien but blah blah blah. There is a limit.

I'm bored and need some damn work.

Let us get some portraits scheduled. I had a decent reply from the last mention of it..time to solidify. Yell if you want a portrait. I've got the list somewhere from last time. Feel free to yell again.

Blah blah blah.

MAKE IT SO!

Day 115

el2_115

Jonathan Purvis sitting in for a test shot. It was testing for the shot I posted on Damien Jurado but of course it looks nothing like it. Also, this was the one sheet of 4x5 I slightly mis-loaded, hence its odd framing.

Also, a couple of weeks ago I mentioned / posted my wall of photos I keep at the studio and thought I'd post and update. I added a few polaroids and two 16x20s of recent 4x5 shots (damien + gregory). Stephanie is in there to show scale.

Day 113

el2_113 Damien Jurado

So I had the pleasure last night to see Damien Jurado perform at Bottletree and it was, as I'd expect, a very nice night of music I completely love. Threw in a couple I didn't know which is always nice too.

More to the point, I also was able to take a few portraits of him before the show. Super, super nice and laid back guy. The nice part was he was easy to shoot despite his protests of not being a good model. The important part is he was comfortable in his skin, or at least seemed to be, and just...was.

So, this is my favorite portrait of him. You may see another shot or two of him here, but this is the winningest winner.

Thanks for your time, Damien.

Day 111

el2_111

I keep on meaning to have more to say.

I'll say this. I met Bill from my lab (Richard Photo Lab in Los Angeles) yesterday and hung with him for a minute today. Solid dude. Took two frames of 4x5 of him while he was here. Ironically, I'll be processing it myself instead of sending it to Bill. Funny how that works.

Man, I'm hungry.

Gregory

I've been on a big 4x5 kick lately.

Here is Greogy and his glorious beard. It has apparently been going since November (which would make it an unofficial Whiskerino I gues).

Day 110

Gregory Price.

This is one of several 4x5 frames from this weekend. I'm still pretty addicted to it.

If anyone wants their photo taken with ye olde 4x5 let me know. I'm down to shoot you with it.

Please email me if you wanna.
