To be part of the creative community in Birmingham is to be connected to Jackie and Jason Hamric. Endlessly connecting people and helping creative things happen, they both have had outsized impact on the arts culture here. Jason was a such a huge supporter of my work and wanted to be first in line for a portrait once I finally finished the big camera. I regret not finishing it before he left us, but I knew there was only one person to be the first official sitter. Thanks for coming to sit for me, Jackie.
