People ask a lot “what do you photograph” and I never have a concise answer. There is nothing particularly concise about my brain, but thankfully that can play as an advantage when making photographs.

I really enjoy photographing people doing their thing. Working with their hands, building stuff, cooking, arting, goofing off, loving on folks. That human connection. Somebody in their place. In their moment. That’s the good stuff.

I shoot life, whatever’s going on around me, adventures we take, people I love, junk around town, strangers. I spend a lot of time, too, solving problems for folks with my camera. “The Work”. Perfect days of work are when I get to shoot “for me” to meet the needs of the people who pay the bills. I love working with creative agencies that have great ideas to inspire and guide the team, and can trust everybody on the team to do their job.

I live in Birmingham and I love my adopted home state, despite itself.

My wife Stephanie and I live in a house we got to renovate with my father-in-law, and that experience changed my life nearly as much as meeting Steph. Another world changer just happened, too. We had our first kiddo—little dude with pokey-uppy hair we call Charlie. He’s like factory fresh and we’re still learning who he’s gonna be.
